Truly a great musical movement in the
sixties in Avellino. Among the known bands at the national level we find "I
Titans '67" or simply "I
Titani". I recently discovered
this very interesting web page
with beautiful pictures and information about them and the musical world in
this time of Avellino. As in the rest of the Italian peninsula, not all
groups, that were musically active in their territories, were able to record
their songs on vinyl and only those who lived through this period of time
can best describe the sounds of their beautiful music ! What we can do on
this site is reviewing just a little has been able to find until now. "I
Deben's" was perhaps one of the few bands that came to 45 rpm
(7'') and their side A opens with sounds a lot to
"A
Whiter Shade of Pale", "Mia Cara" is a song that combines
a great voice with typically British sounds, the organ is undoubtedly an
important element flanked by the peaceful sound of the electric guitar,
excellent rhythm section. Other sounds instead for these "Pipistrelli", not
to be confused with the most famous Pipistrelli of Treviso,
that leave us, probably in the early seventies, some of their records
published in the nineties on the compilation "60's
Italian Beat Resurrection Vol 5", "Loneliness" is a psychedelic suite very interesting
female voice guide, while the B side "Evil Ways" is the cover of the song
by "Santana" faithfully executed with a touch of spirit that characterizes the
garage beat in our italian world, in this track the voice
is male, excellent keyboards by Michele Acampora.

Titani". Recentemente ho scoperto
questa pagina web molto interessantecon belle immagini e informazioni su di loro e il mondo
musicale di Avellino in questo tempo. Come nel resto della penisola
italiana, non tutti i gruppi che erano musicalmente attivi nei loro
territori sono stati in grado di registrare le loro canzoni su vinile anche
se coloro che hanno vissuto questo periodo di tempo sicuramente si
ricorderanno la loro bella musica !
Quello che possiamo fare su questo sito è recensire quel poco che si è
potuto reperire fino ad ora. "I
Deben's" furono forse uno dei pochi gruppi che arrivarono al 45
giri ed il loro lato A si apre con sonorità molto alla "Senza
Luce", "Mia Cara" è una canzone che unisce una grande voce
a suoni tipicamente britannici, l'organo è senza dubbio un elemento
importante affiancato dal piacevole suono della chitarra elettrica, ottima
la sezione ritmica. Altri suoni invece per questi "Pipistrelli" (da non
confondere con i più famosi Pipistrelli di Treviso) che ci lasciano,
probabilmente già agli inizi degli anni settanta, alcune loro registrazioni
pubblicate negli anni novanta nella compilation "60's
Italian Beat Resurrection Vol 5", "Loneliness" è una suite molto psichedelica con voce guida
femminile davvero interessante, mentre il lato B "Evil Ways" è la cover del
brano dei "Santana" eseguito fedelmente con quel tocco di spirito
garage che caratterizza il nostro mondo beat, la voce in questo caso è
maschile, ottime le tastiere di Michele Acampora.
